the 1750 exhibitors of the trade fair “interzum” were invited to take part in the first “interzum award” competition.
the submitted products were judged under the aspects of functionality, environmental standards and innovation.
an international jury of experts including hannes wettstein (designer and architect, switzerland), peter zec (president, design zentrum nordrhein westfalen), james irvine (designer, milan) and volker staab (architect, berlin) made a careful and objective selection from the entries. wellboard gamma and wellium both received the coveted “best of the best” interzum award.
all winners of the competition are introduced in the book “interzum award: intelligent material & design 2001” which is published in two languages.
